One of my favorite clients, Columbia Business School, is always a wealth of great business information (congrats on the award, by the way, well deserved!).
The latest insight explains to us the 7 deadly sins of social media. I wholeheartedly agree with most of this list – especially the first part about the importance of having a social media strategy – but I know opinions will vary.
I am of the school of thought that although data and numbers are great indicators there still needs to be a human being interpreting the results to put everything into context. So the comments surprised me – there are people who subscribe to the idea that data is king. If the data doesn’t prove something 100%, then you just need more data.
Is it me? Am I old-fashioned thinking that there needs to be a human side to analytics? Or should we let the machines take over?
