The Great Starbucks Bagel Grammar Battle

Share

I love a good grammar correction story as much as the next guy. But, maybe Lynne Rosenthal took it a bit too far? She walked into a Starbucks and ordered a multigrain bagel. When asked “With butter or cream cheese?”, Lynne went into a tizzy.

“I just wanted a multigrain bagel,” Rosenthal told The Post. “I refused to say ‘without butter or cheese.’ When you go to Burger King, you don’t have to list the six things you don’t want.

“Linguistically, it’s stupid, and I’m a stickler for correct English.”

So, Lynne Rosenthal argued with the Starbucks employee so much (and really, has any one of us ever really “won” an argument with an hourly-employee?) that the police were called and dragged Lynne out.

Awesome, right? Sure, involving the police was a bit too much. But still, who hasn’t wanted to right a grammatical wrong? I know I have.
