Tenure get more tenuous

What’s that sound? Oh, I think it’s the sound of another nail being driven into Tenure’s coffin.
The University of Louisiana will vote today to change its tenure regulations – making it easier to dismiss tenured professors.

Because state funding has been cut by 17% since the 2008 fiscal year, budgets are tighter than ever. And, for programs with reduced resources and funding, certain cuts have to be made to keep the school fiscally sound.

And why shouldn’t tenured professors be subject to the same set of circumstances as the rest of the department’s resources?
